Sights and sounds of the DNC

    Denver DNC

As a downtown Denver (Capitol Hill) resident I really had a time going home today from the light rail station. As I travelled up the mall (16th Street Mall) I was met with huge crowds of marching protestors and onlookers and so I took some photos. The DNC hasn't even officially "started" yet and I'm already experiencing its madness in my core, and really enjoying all the energy of my city. I'm currently working up an agenda for the week. I hope to cover a lot of offbeat stories and other DNC-related news items about how the DNC is effecting the people who live and work downtown. So far I've noticed a lot of new faces, a lot of folks wearing media tags and a lot of people looking a little confused using public transportation. Today I met a reporter here for the DNC providing coverage for the Wichita Eagle, and I was able to lend him a hand as he took the train to the wrong station. Our train was cancelled due to a bomb scare at the station and we hung back. I took photos while he worked up the story for his publication / blog. Last night I met some Guardian Angels patrolling my neighborhood and look forward to learning more about their work and how they'll serve during the DNC. Look for more Denver / DNC coverage and resources on my blog as I work up resources for surviving this historic event in my city - Denver Colorado! http://beingbooga.com.
