    Veteran's Family Grant Awarded

Vietnam Veterans of California, Inc.(VVC) has been awarded a Supportive Services for Veteran Families grant to serve nearly 400 very low-income families facing homelessness throughout Northern California. VVC has served veterans in Northern California for over 37 years, and currently runs programs in four cities: Sacramento, Menlo Park, Santa Rosa, and Eureka. These programs include transitional housing, substance abuse and mental health treatment, employment and training case management, and services for veteran-owned businesses. In September, VVC will be opening a new office in Redding. Services at all sites are scheduled to begin no later than September 1, 2011. EyeWitness News Channel 5 in San Francisco interviewed a veteran family and the Site Director from North Bay Veterans Resource Center a division of VVC about the grant and the services it would provide those families, the segment will air on August 25th during their 6pm telecast.
