Storm damage: Irene, tree uprooted from stump and fell on Tahoe
These are pictures of a large Maple tree that was uprooted directly out of the ground's stump and it landed right on top of our Tahoe vehicle. We live in Virginia , Central Virginia and we have not had much rain yet where we live but have had lots of wind. this is not the first time I have had a tree issue at my house. Several years ago when we had a bad storm a tree fell on the back of our house and we are just devastated. The vehicle is definitely totaled as the tree was so heavy it made the back of the Tahoe sink down. You can see it in the pictures. We are thankful that nobody was hurt but am a little discouraged that we keep having issues with trees. This was the only tree we had left in our yard and this was our family vehicle. We just lost a family vehicle last year when our daughter had a life threatening car accident and this was our replacement vehicle. We just do not understand why this keeps happening. We are sorry to hear of the tree that fell on the man in NC and killed him. People cannot be replaced, cars can but we are still devastated.
