My 9/11 Story
Ten years ago, I was only 13 years old. I had never heard of the word "terrorist" until the 9/11 attacks. I just thought 9/11/01 was a normal day just like any other, until I my dad picked me up from school. He told me that the World Trade Center in New York was attacked by a few planes earlier that morning and that the United States was on lock down. I kept thinking to myself, "Why would anyone do that?"
Later that day, I watched the news reports, and they were talking about how the act was a terrorist attack. Since then, the world has changed a lot. Going through security at the airport makes me feel like I am exposing myself. Now, I can barely remember a life before 9/11, since it happened when I was so young.
A year before the 9/11 attacks, my sister, my cousin, and I went all the way to the top of the World Trade Center. Looking back, I am so glad I had the opportunity to do that. That experience is something I will cherish forever.
