    Hurricane Irene hits the Meat Packing District NYC

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     America's Next Top Model judge and photographer NigelBarker says ' I travel all around the world and see things people never see, this time it was happening outside my apartment.' He believes the response to Hurricane Irene was appropriate. 'You never can tell with the weather and it's better to be safe than sorry.'

    Photos taken from 8-9 am this morning on the West Side Highway as Soledad O'Brian was reporting live outside my apartment. The water rose fast and we were very quickly flooded. However by 11.30 AM the rains ended and the sun came out. NYC was running as if nothing had happened by lunch.....
