    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     lanson says, 'The wind changed direction and the smoke was terrible all over New Orleans. You could barely see 200 feet down the street. When I got home I walked to the golf course at Audubon park near my house and you could just see the haze of smoke all over the course.' Read more on this story.

    smoke from a marsh fire outside of new orleans inundates the city and no one is doing anything about it.  2 nights ago half of new orlerans woke up around 2am thinking that their house was on fire.  It turns out it was a marshfire that is still burning.  I called 911 3 times because I thought something was on fire in the neighborhood.  911 never answered the phone (I guess they were getting a lot of calls, but kinda scary).  I then called the private security patrol who told me they had gotten a lot of calls and that it was the marsh fire.
