    I took these pictures last night (Sept 6) on the way back from Austin.

     

    The fire had hopscotched along the area leaving some houses untouched in the middle of black smoking yards while others were burned to the ground in the middle of  gaunt black trunks.  Other properties were left alone, bright spots of color in a bleak landscape. The entire area has been evacuated and it is impossible to get into the part that is still burning.

     

    So many have lost everything.
