Flags Of Honor: One Life One Flag
Gently billowing in the cool breeze of a September afternoon on the southern tip of lower Manhattan are approximately 3000 flags.
The flags are part of New York City’s 9/11 Remembrance Field of Honor on display at Battery Park from September 8-12. US flags and flags representing 94 countries that lost citizens in the attacks of 9/11 quietly stand in the shadow of the Freedom Tower that is rising some blocks away where the World Trade Center Twin Towers formerly stood.
New Yorkers and tourist strolled through Battery Park on Thursday admiring the flags. Some individuals took pictures, while others stop to reflect on that day that seemed to make the world one.
