Irene's aftermath |
One week after Irene, Southern NY still flooding
New Paltz, NY is 80 miles north of NYC. Last week when Irene hit, much of the lower part of town near the Walkill river suffered devastating flooding. Farmers lost their entire fall crop and many residences had to be evacuated as the Walkill river crested to record highs. The town has barely had a chance to recover when the remnants of tropical storm Lee hit in the past couple of days. These pictures show some of the flooding due to Lee, which has almost been as bad as Irene.
