I drew this 10 years ago for rebuilding

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     jasynp says he always wanted to be an architect, but 9/11 just increased that for him. He shared an architectural drawing he made at 15, as well as a before-and-after photo of himself. The 'before' photo was taken on September 11, 2001, shortly after the attacks occurred. He recalls: 'It was photo day at high school. I was in gym at the time of the attack playing soccer. In the locker room an announcement stated a plane hit the tower. I thought it was a small aircraft. After gym I was in math, where we watched the towers burning and collapsing live. I had to take my photo afterwards and it was very hard to smile.'
    - nsaidi, CNN iReport producer

I knew I wanted to become an architect when I was 8 years old. My ambition only grew stronger after 9-11 when I was 15 years old. Today I am 25 and am taking my exams to become a licensed architect in NJ.

This was my design for rebuilding, which I drew 10 years ago. The sphere in the center was to be created with globe which stood at the center of the plaza as well as all the melted steel from the destruction. Inside of it would have been my 9-11 memorial. At the center of the new towers stood our past, and the towers were fragmented. But together with the future, this design was meant to support our present.
