    Ely, MN Smoke in Milwaukee, WI

    At school today the kids on the playground were complaining about the haze and smoky smell outside. When I got home I looked online and found out that the smoke was coming from well over 500 miles away! There are wildfires burning in the Boundary Waters in Ely, MN, up near the Canadian border. The smoke is being blown to us, here in the southern part of Wisconsin, on 25 mph winds blowing out of the northwest. It's quite the sight... and smell!

    These photos were taken in front of and out the back of our house.
