    Wildfires blazing near you

    More from unclaimed

View of the smoke pillars... from our driveway!

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Yousif Salama and his sister Helen were out getting a flu shot when they noticed smoke going up nearby in Houston, Texas, on September 13. They shot images of the rising plume. Helen Salama said the fire moved rapidly. 'In a few seconds it went from being one chain of smoke to three different huge clouds of smoke.' Yousif Salama said the drought has been severe and he wonders if the whole area will be burned up if no rain comes. 'Yes, it's pretty bad. Everywhere you step, even if it's well-irrigated, it's still crunchy.' He also said more roaches, geckos and earwigs are coming inside due to drought.

    Scary.

Though ppl assure me our homes are made in such a way that the fires would not be able to spread in the burbs, I have strong doubts.

Was it a poorly discarded cig or larson?
