    Polish Roadtrip Continued

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Crabbitt of Brooklyn had been bedridden with mono for a few months while her boyfriend was in Poland for the summer visiting his family. Once she got better, she bought a ticket to Poland on a whim to see where he grew up. 'We spent a lot of time walking his dog, playing poker on the back porch, exploring old and new town, as well as nightlife in Warsaw. On our road trip, we met people from all over the world and sipped vodka with them in Gdansk. In Smołdzino, we would wake up every morning go on a hike/bike to the Baltic and lounge on the beach,' she said.

In August 2011, I put my college savings to use and embarked on an amazing two-week vacation to Poland. Granted I had someone special waiting there for me and my own personal tour guides. After spending the beginning of my stay in Konstancin, just outside of Warsaw we travelled up north to the port city Gdansk and a small village in Kashubia called Smołdzino. Each place was more unique and breathtaking than the last. While on our road trip to Kashubia, the northern part of Poland, we passed through various towns and made several pit stops along the way. Upon arriving in Smołdzino we immediately rented bicycles and explored the surrounding area. We soon discovered the local grocery store and family-owned smoked fish shop that we frequented daily. We immersed ourselves in nature and had the most relaxing time biking and hiking through the forest, over the sand dunes, and swimming in the Baltic Sea. Between sightseeing, indulging in Polish food and drinks, and engulfing ourselves in each towns specific culture, I had the time of my life. If I didn't go, I would have never known any of this existed.
