War in Iraq: 5 years later |
Medical Abuse at the LYONS VA Hospital in NJ - Against returning Iraq veterans
My brother William Jackson was a master sargeant in THE NATIONAL GUARD in Somerset NJ until he was deployed to Iraq. My brother was fine emotionally, physically and completely healthy until he came home from Iraq.
William Jackson Jr. is on a suicide watch and is currently at Lyons Hospital. The VA gave him multiple drugs - 21 different prescriptions including 4 antidepressants which he has been taking daily since he came back and since he returned back home from Iraq. He is completely shot out. He took a bat up to Lyons Hospital after being on all these drugs. Most of the guys there are drugged out too.
After taking him to our local Hospital Saint Peters - the doctor there took all the medication from him. His speech was slurred and he could barely walk due to all the various drugs in his body. He chose to go back to the VA hospital. Upon his release,
they gave him the same drugs that got him in this condition.
I took pictures of the 2 sets of multiple sets of drugs he was given at the VA and wrote down
all the prescriptions. I can send pictures.
Most of the guys that are at Lyons in that unit all are exhibiting the same symphoms my brother has.
I want someone to do a story on this. My brother came back from Iraq with irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, diabetes and
my brother did not have any of these problems before going to Kuwait and Iraq.
I believe the government is medicating the soldiers that come back with emotional issues with these drugs so they are not able to distinguish their problems., or report about this unusual drug use. When he went back to Lyons we were told we could not visit for three days. Why????
I am imploring that someone there follow up with me as soon as possible. My brother and a lot of other vets from Iraq are being given
multiple antipressants.
The young girl that was killed (the student) was killed by a young man who did a tour of duty in Iraq.
This is a list of all the drugs he was given after following up with the VA after his return from Iraq.

This is the information on the prescription bottles from the VA hospital.
My brother has been on this stuff so long he does not believe he cnn survive without this medication. I NEED to advocate for my brother.
Please respond as soon as possible.
Sincerely, Donna M. Jackson
