This iReport is part of an assignment:
Munich, Germany: Brewing up the fun in Bavaria
Experience the Autobahn
My wife and I were transferred to Munich for an ex-patriate position. At the time the conversations started we had a Corvette on order. During the process the probability of finalizing the position went from high to low, so we decided to take delivery. Days later the news came that the position had been approved. After searching through endless pages of customs and import regulations, we decided to add another container to our shipment of personal goods. Fortunately our flat was next to a U-Bahn station, and during the dig an underground parking garage was added to the historic building we lived in. Our favorite drive was down the Autobahn and then through the country side roads to Füssen, the location of Neuschwanstein Castle. We frequently drove through the Bavarian Alps, the Black Forest and down to Austria. Our stay was during the reunification of Germany, and our favorite part of a drive was meeting East Germans who were used to driving a small and under-powered Trabant.
