Obama's acceptance speech |
Obama's Acceptance Speech.
Who says dreams don't come through? On the 45th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King's famous " I have a dream" speech, Barack Obama became the first African American to accept the nomination of a major party for president of the USA. But even more than just the realization of Dr. Kings "dream", Barack Obama ceased the occasion to spell out and contrast his policy position on the economy, healthcare, energy and foreign policy with those of John McCain. Obama also rebuttled some of the attacks that have been levelled against by the McCain campaign labelling as a celebrity in the mould of Paris Hilton and Britney Spear who is not ready to lead, and that he is unpatriotic and overly ambitious. Obama then went after John McCain and threw a barrage of punches in a manner uncharacteristic of him. Could the speech be a herald of what is to come in the upcoming presidential debates and on the campaign trail? only time will tell.
