    Portugal... yu no wake up?

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     TTeixeira, 60, shares this photo from an organized mass protest in Lisbon, Portugal, which took place on October 15. She says the photo was taken as the protests began 'in front of the Portuguese Parliament and people were manifesting in an orderly way, singing intervention songs, shouting and showing protest placards.'

She comments: 'The most emotional moment to me was when people started to climb the stairs of Parliament, indifferent to the police, after being incited to do it, challenging the political power. This was done with enthusiasm, but with order. There were placards telling the police that the people were supporting them, and were doing their best to help them get a better life too. I think we all felt we were entering the door of our house.'

About one hundred thousand people protested in Lisbon against the growing crisis. Portugal woke up now and seems more determined to fight against the last measures taken by the government. A general strike and other forms of fight were decided this evening in a popular assembly.
