    Occupy the Bering Sea

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     janebye and her husband, Richard, share this photo from Unalaska, Alaska, in the Aleutian Islands, taken on October 15. Richard Bye says: 'My wife and I wanted to do something to show our support for those occupying Wall Street and elsewhere. She came up with the idea of "Occupy the Bering Sea" since it would be a little different, but would have the same message. We invited friends and everyone showed up at the spit around noon on Saturday. We climbed down onto the rocky beach and made our stand. [...] We are fortunate to have good jobs and are not in dire straits, but have much empathy for those who find themselves in such a difficult situation. The people in the photo are all local residents who work in a variety of jobs. Most have children and are raising their families here.'
    - elchueco, CNN iReport producer
