    Occupy Phoenix October 14, 15

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     DavidMcLane says he hasn't seen any protesters in his hometown of Congress, Arizona. He drove out to Phoenix, Arizona, over the weekend on October 14 and 15 to see what was going on downtown with Occupy Wall Street.
    - nsaidi, CNN iReport producer

I hadn't seen any protesters where I live in Congress, AZ so I drove down to Phoenix to see what was happening with Occupy Phoenix on October 14 and 15.

The first day there was a lot of milling around and finally everybody got behind the lead person and marched through the downtown area winding up at the park in front of City Hall. The second day what looked like the same people who'd marched were there but as the afternoon wore on more and more people showed up.

What impressed me most of all were how many different kinds of people were there: black, brown, white; young, old; men, women; Christian, Islam and perhaps Buddhist; whatever.

It looked like anybody could get their turn to speak to the assembled from the steps of City Hall; there were various musicians holding forth; people danced, rested in the shade, talked with each other and generally acted as one big family.

Late in the afternoon some kind of verbal altercation began and two plainclothes police stepped between them while one stood of the side. This went on for quite some time and finally settled down.

I'd had enough by the time the sun was going down so I didn't see what happened when some of the people moved to another park and a few got arrested for staying past the time the park was closed.
