CNN PRODUCER NOTE     RVCFOTO and her Maltese Marly, enjoyed the Tompkins Square Park Halloween Doggie Parade in 2011. They, along with many others, filled the area with their festive Halloween costumes. ‘I love dogs and was fun to see them in costumes,’ Cauvin said.

The 21st annual Halloween Dog Parade took place on the lower east side in Tompkins Square Park. This year up to 300 dogs participated in the parade.

There were all kinds of very creative home made costumes. Pin cushion, Bride of Frankenstein, Flight attendant, Peacock, Sightseeing  Bus, Hurricane Irene, Spaghetti and Meat Balls, 3 Musketeers to name a few.

Grand prizes & runner-ups were awarded for the best dogs in costumes in 3 different rounds.

The grand prize winner of the 1st round was the NYC MTA bus with the bus sign worn by the dog owners son.
