    Once Upon A Time Premiere

Blending Disney Classics is something new to me.  The premiere of Once Upon A Time did just that.  Starting out with Snow White coming back to life after being kissed by her Prince Charming. The Snow White saga continues with her and the Prince getting married, but, her stepmother the Evil Queen shows up and puts a spell on her life, an evil spell promising everyone at the wedding will live a dreadful life starting the next day.  This is where the blending begins.

The Evil Queen does what Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty did by putting a spell on the couple.  When Snow White finds out she is pregnant she asks to see "the man" who is Rumplestiltskin.  He tells her there is nothing to be done to undo the Evil Queen's spell but she can reverse the spell if she gives up the child she is carrying.  That child, a daughter to be named Emma, will need to be away for 28 yrs.  Then Emma can come back and reverse the spell.

Back in real life, Emma is a bailbondsperson, she had a baby when she was a teenager and gave up her son for adoption. On her 28th birthday her 10 yr. old son Henry found her at her apartment.  He asked her to take him home to Storybrooke, Maine.  All Henry wants, besides Emma,  is a week to convince Emma that she belongs there and can reverse the spell.  Emma has no idea what she is in for.  Henry was adopted by the Evil Queen!

I found this episode fascinating.  Being what I call a Disney freak all my life, I loved this new show.

Be sure to watch Sunday night on ABC.
