Artistic Halloween decor |
Halloween - Florida Style
- mannynyc, CNN iReport producer
Growing up in the Ohio - we made fun of people with plastic pumpkins. Now, I am proud to say, I am one of them!
It’s a big change. I had celebrated Halloween in the Mid-west almost my entire life. When my husband and I moved to Vero Beach, Florida in 1995 I wondered how I would ever capture that same spirit among the beach and palm trees.
I think because we don’t have falling leaves or apple cider mills near-by, we work harder to bring the crazy spirit of Halloween alive!
Anything creepy, tacky or just plain zany is OK if it brings a smile to my retired neighbors or our eight year old son (who prefers to be referred to as, “Darth Vader”).
So check out our decorations! We will not appear on the cover of a Pottery Barn catalog, but we have a great time, haunting the neighborhood with our tacky decorations!
