    From friends and fans in the digital world, Ang Dating Daan Anniversary Greetings Pour In


    From Facebook to Twitter, thousands of the program's avid viewers and fans are pouring in their various expression of greetings to Ang Dating Daan which this month turns 31.


    A program that started as a 30-minute radio show in 1980, Ang Dating Daan's humble beginnings was initially a three-man team with Bro. Eli Soriano as its host and two other staff concerned with production.


    Over the years, Ang Dating Daan have come a long way in building its reputation and authority as one of the Philippine's most informative and sensible religious program. After 30 years, Ang Dating Daan can now be watched in more than 30 countries through the aid of satellite and the Internet.


    Its host, Bro. Eli, is known locally and internationally for answering any spiritual question asked him by live audience. And in the digital realm, he is no stranger among the netizens where he maintains webcast programs at Livestream.com and Truthcaster.com, and juggles writing on his blog and Twitter.


    On the Facebook fan page of Ang Dating Daan, Bro. Eli Soriano and Kuya Daniel Razon, their combined more than 150,000 fans around the globe contributed their greetings of congratulations to the show's anniversary. To many, Ang Dating Daan inspired and transformed them become better persons and individuals.


    Online fans are sharing what they love best about the program and stories of their initial hate of the program and its host, Bro Eli Soriano, that through constant listening were converted to admiration, saying the sincerity and compassion that the program exhibits made them appreciate Ang Dating Daan.


    One such online comment, posted by RB Lacsa, reads, “It has opened my mind about life in

    general. It has taught me about the truth and the existence of the one true God that, man should recognize, serve, [l]ove, and offer thanksgiving [to]... Long live Ang Dating Daan!”


    Others use poetry to express appreciation. Ailene Marquez, an avid viewer of 13 years, wrote a poem in the vernacular about how unique the TV program is and how the Ang Dating Daan changed her life.


    The program’s sincere and unparalleled style of discussing biblical truths in real-life contexts are also cited by some online fans of the program. “ADD contains the best examples ever (could be funny but still true), which helps us enjoy and understand the words of God more. It is also a good attention grabber, probably the best I've seen in TV,” wrote Rafael Perea.


    The educational and expositional nature of the show have inspired others to question their own faiths. One from the Pentecostal faith said that she likes the program “because it encourages me to research on what i believe in - my faith - the pentecostal faith.”


    Others may be less expressive but their comments are more succinct. “It's (Ang Dating Daan) incomparable!,” posted Michelle Borja.


    In Twitter, greetings of congratulations have surfaced as well. Mentioning program host Bro. Eli Soriano, well-wishers express their warm regards in less than 140 characters.


    One of the greetings read: “@BroEliSoriano Happy anniversary, Bro. Eli for the Ang Dating Daan! May this program be more fruitful and may God’s words continue to spread out,” tweeted user just_darna.


    A blogger, Sie Morante wrote about the Ang Dating Daan’s colorful debate history where Bro Eli was always the declared winner by moderators. “Although Ang Dating Daan has already received various awards and recognitions, probably ... best from all of these is the remarkable victory of Bro. Eli over all the debates,” she posted in the blog, “Ang Dating Daan on Its 31st and Beyond.”


    Ang Dating Daan's anniversary was celebrated last October 22 at the Ang Dating Daan Convention Center through a special yet humble gathering with friends and partners from the government, media, and society. UNTV 37 airs the anniversary program on October 31.
