Buenos Aires zombie walk 2011
Buenos Aires was covered in blood this afternoon, when hundreds of persons became zombies for a while. The zombie walk celebrates once a year in the downtown and it´s also use as a benefit event to recollect food for a communitarian eating centre for poor kids.
Families, young people, older people and kids get dress as zombies with a very accurate production and they walk around the streets in a zombie walk that takes almost an hour. Before the parade, they get together in San Martin square and they talk, take pictures and dance. Today everybody dance along Michael Jackson´s well known song, Thriller.
The zombie walk began in California in 2001 and since then it had become a world event that celebrates every year. Buenos Aires is experimenting this costumes get together every year since 2008 and it´s getting more popular by the years. Zombies also use the event to generate conscience about blood donation and about helping those who may need it.
