This iReport is part of an assignment:
Take a stand to end slavery |
And at this corner
This banner is on a residential wall at the corner of two streets: a main street where numerous and various jeepneys (our most popular public transportation) pass by every minute of everyday and another street where only private vehicles may come and go.
This corner is where both the private cars of the comfortably seated well off individuals and the jeepneys carrying others who are looking out the windows for some fresh air meet.
This spot is where this sign is clearly visible.
The design on this banner where a man is holding up a paper airplane is a still shot from a video I made on June 30, 2011, as part of the CNN Freedom project. The video is entitled "Freedom. Free them."
I am hoping to let more people know about modern day slavery and to tell all those who are already aware that each of our actions are significant and can make a difference.
Like I previously mentioned, I believe that being around enlightened, immersed and concerned individuals is being in a safe, intact and dependable culture and populace.
I am participating in this effort because I simply aspire to help in ways I can. The more people know about this, the easier it will be to convene skills, cooperation and will against this ominous concern.
I'm taking a stand to end slavery.
