    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     omekongo has been critical of hip-hop in the past, but said that Heavy D was a positive example within that community.

    While Heavy-D will not go down in history as one of the greatest rappers of all time, he was one of the greatest for me and my family. He represented everything that people say hip-hop ought to be. We'll miss you.
