    Aladino @ ING Marathon

New York, November 6, 2011—Celebrity interviewer & CNN iReporter Aladino attended the opening ceremony of the ING NYC Marathon where Geoffrey Mutai of Kenya and Firehiwot Dado of Ethiopia won the ING New York City Marathon 2011 titles.

Aladino proudly received from the Argentian "Runners of the South" the 1/2 Marathon T-shirt and also a Turkish flag given by Mr. Osman Atakan Tekin, AIMS Coordinator for Turkey who was with Mr. Mucahit Sak, Race Director of the Int'l Cayirova Run in Turkiye.

Dado and New York-resident Ethiopian Buzunesh Deba passed Kenya's Mary  Keitany at the 24-mile mark after Keitany had gone out in a brave but  self-destructive 1:07:56 first half--pace for a sub-2:17 marathon. Dado  won in 2:23:15; Deba finished second, only four seconds back, and  Keitany hung on for third, the same place she took last year.

NYRR has reserved a number of guaranteed entries for the ING New York  City Marathon 2012 through the NYRR Champion's Circle. Marathon entries  will be given to those who apply and donate $2,500.
