    Why Occupy Venice Makes Sense

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     MA2N1 says the Occupy Venice movement has been going strong since early October. The Occupy Venice protesters, he says, disapprove of the violent behaviors that have occurred at other Occupy protests around the country. 'Non-violence is crucial,' he says. 'We play right into their [the police] hands if we react violently in any given situation.'

He and his fellow protesters at Occupy Venice are approaching the protest in a "non-Occupy" fashion, in response to the health and sanitation issues that other protests have run into and have been shut down for: 'In my opinion, and the opinion of Occupy Venice, Occupy Wall St. needs to become a state of mind. We can all Occupy this country on a daily basis in many different ways without physically occupying specific spaces.'

He says they have not had any issues with violence, and have not had any confrontations with the police. 'We have enjoyed a very friendly relationship with our police here. We love and respect our community, and want to make it an even better place to live. I think the police in Venice understand this, and there is a mutual respect.'
