We Are the Citizens of the World
The student run society at the American International School Lagos, in Lagos, Nigeria, acts to 'improve the quality of the environment for all people through the efforts of its members to reuse, reduce and recycle. We aim to inform the community of the importance of a clean environment, and teach people the methods of achieving such.'
- elchueco, CNN iReport producer
The Citizens of the World Society (COWS) in Lagos, Nigeria decided to make a video to spread awareness of our efforts. The COWS aim to raise awareness of the community we live in, as well as the waste and pollution that is produced in our school and Nigeria as a whole. This society aim to demonstrate that a few can make a difference in the environment. Change is possible!
The mission of the COWS is to improve the quality of the environment for all people through the efforts of its members, to reuse, reduce and recycle, inform the world of the importance of a clean environment, and teach people the methods of achieving one. The members of this society are committed to making a difference. Through this society, members learn the effects of their actions on the world, gain a greater understanding of the living conditions of people in our community and raise personal awareness of their impact.
With this video we wanted to inspire people to understand that a small group can make a change and to encourage others to make a difference in their community.
