London Zoo - Hand Feeding The Red Faced Black Spider Monkeys

This is one of 9 films, as Alun Hill is made "zoo keeper for the day" at London Zoo.

Alun Hill hand feeds the Red Faced Black Spider Monkeys at London Zoo, as he is allowed to be a  "zoo kepeer for a day".

Wearing special latex gloves to prevent any cross contaminartion, he watches as the monkeys come down to the inner cage and reach through as soon as they see the peanuts.

Taking them very gently, they quickly shove them in their mouths and reach through for more - but Alun insists they eat the first one before they get another!

The monkeys turn thier bodies into a sort of hammock - using their legs and prehensile tail to suport their weight as they reach through.

The last monkey is the elder female of the group, who is a litlte shy now - so the Zoo staff were very pleased and excited to see her take some peanuts from Alun.
