    I've lost friends and family to AIDS

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     omekongo says that after realizing that he had relatives in Congo that contracted the AIDS virus, he wrote the poem "And I Don't Even Know Her Name". He said that he wants to reach out and help the current epidemic in Congo.

    I've lost family friends to AIDS as well as family members back home in Congo whom I will never know. As we approach another World AIDS Day, we need to continue to not only push harder for a cure, but also continue to show compassion for those affected by AIDS and that includes family members of the afflicted.
