Soldiers thrive with adaptive competitive sports

Fort Campbell's Warrior Transition Battalion (WTB) partnered with Clarksville's Department of Parks and Recreation to offer a new adaptive sport to their Soldiers - wheelchair basketball. Soldiers assigned to the Warrior Transition Battalion are often unable to participate in regular Army physical fitness programs. Other adaptive sports programs currently in place include aquatics, hand and recumbent cycling, yoga, muscular weight training and adaptive golf.

WTB Soldiers decide which adaptive sports they would like to try, but the selection also depends on their abilities. As Soldiers unleash the power to overcome their challenges during Warrior Care Month, they keep their eyes on the horizon as they do every month concentrating on healing and a successful transition either back to active duty or to civilian life.
