TO BE RELEASED IMMEDIATELY
City of Concord, Today at approximately 11:45 AM local time (02:45pmE3K-ST/82.3 EMT) a truck bomb was detonated in what appears to be a terrorist attack by a group of radicals.
The bomb was detonated at Faye and Jesperson in Downtown Concord during an event held by Mayor Aaps59 Aeon to announce the opening of the convention center.
There was a large crowd gathered to hear the mayor speak and they were caught in the blast. An estimated 100 people were in attendance at the event when the bomb went off; the death count so far is reaching 30 people, with injuries to about 50 more ranging from minor to life threatening.
Mayor Aeon was present at the time of the attack and is among the deceased having been struck by a large object throw during the explosion.
There will be a memorial service at the stadium later this week to remember those who have perished in the first successful terrorist attack on American soil since 9/11.
A group who calls themselves "1% of the 99%" has come forward and claimed responsibility for the attacks, vowing that there will be more. It is believed that among the injured was one of those involved in the attack, he is currently in police custody. The Concord Police Department has released no further information at this time about the incident.
