I-59 Contraflow
These are some photos of the contraflow on I-59 in Mississippi at the Carriere Exit. . Traffic is moving slowly but it is moving.
You know, I posted these pictures to show everyone what our fellow citizens were going through. I think it is absolutely horrible how long these people had to wait to get out of harms way. I don't know how this became political???? It's not the politicians fault. Yes, some people should have left earlier the roads were fine on Saturday, but they didn't. Many waited to see exactly what was going on because many families just can't afford to evacuate. As far as rebuilding, my family is from Bay St. Louis, MS on the coast(2 miles west of Waveland). We lived aprox 3 miles from the water. Even during Hurricane Camille it never flooded where we were at. That unfortunately was no comparison to Hurricane Katrina. Our entire county was devastated. Water went inland as far as 20 miles. You don't hear that reported on the news. So to say everyone should pack up and leave is just bull. That is our home, where we were raised, and where we want our children raised!!!!!!
