    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     marefat took these photos of floating merchants in Bangkok during a Novmeber vacation in Thailand. Though he was initially concerned about the ongoing flooding in the region, it didn't put a damper on his trip.

    About 1.5 hours south of Bangkok is this market that showcases how the local people live on houses build next to man made canals.
    Its a great experience shopping for fruits and trying some of the local foods. We had the best fried bananas ever from 2 ladies on a boat. the secret was in using coconut in the batter and ofcourse fresh sweet bananas.
