    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     alamelu, 51, of St. Johns, Newfoundland, shot these photos at a breakfast buffet in Shanghai, China, in 2009, and at her home in Ottawa in 2010. She recalls her earliest ramen memory: 'Rice noodles eaten with coconut chutney/ gravy and pappads was a meal I used to enjoy after school. It was tedious to prepare and often enjoyed with great relish when made at home by my grandmother.'

    Its simple. Add water first to cook . Then present the noodles on a plate like a master chef.
