    Glastonbury, CT...Smalll Town, Big Rewards

Glastonbury, Connecticut has got to be one of the most treasured family 'finds' this beautiful country has to offer, and one we proudly call 'home.' Its innate ability to maintain its core values, established by its many generations before us, while integrating the most advanced methods of academic, athletic and artistic preparedness to offer our children, remains unprecedented.

Instilling a sense of tradition in our children has become a rare priority in America, yet thrives here in our little town and is incredibly refreshing to watch. While the old adage states it takes a village to raise a family, this village raises leaders with a heartwarming sense of where they came from, who they are, and where they are going.

Offering Schools of Excellence in our 6 elementary schools, followed by a most unique 6th grade program not offered anywhere else I've seen, which successfully transitions our students into the finest middle school environment, clearly supports why our Glastonbury High School earns its well deserved superior designation year after year.

In addition to our exemplary public school environments, Glastonbury represents exceptional Magnet schools to students with accelerated interest in the arts and sciences, the ability to enjoy a curriculum tailored to their areas of interest. Our educational administrators are relentless in upholding a scope on education which brings balance, the freedom of choice and opportunity for growth to every student. Going as far as to incorporate time management, team building, anti-bullying and stress management programs to students, beginning at the elementary school level.

Glastonbury educators rise to the needs of all students, providing the tools necessary for our busy youths to manage the rigors of academic and extra-curricular activities in a way which allows them to flourish. The respect our educators offer to our children is a parent's dream. There is no greater peace a parent feels inside knowing our children are in protective hands while in the one place they spend the majority of their time. The Glastonbury Board of Education works overtime to protect our children from what often goes unnoticed. Our town leaders bring the absolute best to our community, which is what puts Glastonbury on the map, as a community of choice to those on the outside looking in as they search for the finest community in which to settle.

Glastonbury attracts families from all parts of the country, and the world, who find themselves relocating to our beautiful New England region. Many, like myself and my husband, who relocated from Atlanta, GA 7 years ago with our two young boys, endure extended commutes to and from our respective work environments in exchange for the benefits of living here. After all, life is all about making good choices. Living in Glastonbury is a no-brainer.

Last but not least, is the exemplary athletic programs offered here. Glastonbury athletes continue to bring home championship titles in virtually every sport imagineable. Our athletic programs begin the development process as early as the age of 4. Our athletes are well trained and cultivated in a way where, as children, they are taught to have fun first and get to know the basics of what individual and team sport has to offer. As our children grow and develop their athletic passions, they are taught the intricacies of the game which supports the physical development and strategic thinking required to reach their full potential, achieved through outstanding coaching and appropriately set guidelines.

As your next trips brings you to New England, I invite you to visit Glastonbury and all our town has to offer. Enjoy a relaxing walk along Main Street will prove enjoyable as you soak in the history found in many of our well-preseved historic homes, perhaps poking your head into one of our family owned eateries, or catching a game of frisbee in the park. Enjoy!
