    The Metro Suburb

Fairfax is definitely a quasi city suburb. It is known for its multilevel suburban lifestyle. In reference Washington, DC it is considered as a suburb, but to people in the Fairfax area it is an ideal thriving and ever expanding city. It has the basic elements of a major city such as, never ending traffic, 24/7 businesses, night life, and public transportation. What makes it unique, however, is that fact that it is a 15 minute drive from Washington, DC and a 15 minute drive from the country side. Kind of like the happy medium, where you have the luxury of a night life and 24/7 businesses, but can go to DC for that real live metropolitan city experience, or even travel to the country side for a calm relaxing break. Either way, it is definitely a great place to visit and/or live.
