    Iraq 2004

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     RoadHunter16 deployed to Iraq in early 2004 as a member of the South Dakota National Guard. He served as a gun truck commander, assisting in more than 270 convoy security escort missions. He chronicled his experience in a book, 'Road Hunter in the Land between the Rivers,' and made this video from photos he shot in 2004. 'Most of our days were out on a highway dealing with the people. So in one place we would stop ... along the highway and you’d have children bouncing around excited, loking for handouts of candy and about 50 miles down the road, there'd be a truck on fire or something that would happen that wasn't as positive.'
