South Beach Miami Memorial fo Fallen Soldiers
Recently visiting South Beach Miami, a sobering reminder of our US causalities was on display in the form of 3,987 makeshift tombstones. At the time of the last update, March 12, 2008 this number represented total US deaths. Of course this was before the announcement last week that our causalities topped 4,000. In contrast, between the years of 1942 - 1945 about one fifth of all armed forces and 1/4 of all enlisted officers trained in Miami Beach. About 500,000 men and women in all.
