‘One Life to Live’ and ‘All My Children’: What Can I Do to Help Save the Soaps?

    *** Updated 1-5-12

Let us all acknowledge the wonderful hard work we have accomplished since April 14, 2011. The last episode of “One Life to Live” (to air on ABC), is approaching, and will air on January 13, 2012 (don’t forget to tune into The View as well- it will be all about “OLTL”). It is vital that we absolutely flood ABC with our complaints and messages, especially during this last week of “One Life to Live,” and of course, afterwards, if they still have not come forth with a plan to facilitate the continuation of our soaps through some medium—as they agreed to do on July 7, 2011. It has been quite a rollercoaster, but we have plenty of reason to continue to fight for our soaps. Further, with many of our beloved “OLTL” & “AMC” family cast members at the forefront of our efforts, as well as by our side, we are all the more so empowered, and eternally grateful. There are some very specific efforts you can join if you kindly join/continue in this renewed fight to save the soaps. Many have already come across the quote from Tonja Walker’s radio show, in which she recalls a conversation she recently had with ‘One Life to Live’ Executive Producer Frank Valentini:

"I did speak to Frank last week and asked him, 'Should I continue to encourage them (fans) , or am I just wasting my time and theirs? And he said, 'No, Tonja, there are still people out there who are trying to put a deal together. Keep the... people writing in, keep the people saying they'll support the show.' I said, 'Well, I don't want to feel like a fool, and feel like I'm wasting everybody's time and energy and effort.' And he said, 'No, continue to do it.' If it works, it works - and if it doesn't, we can't say we didn't try."

I hope everyone feels a renewed sense of determination to save our soaps. All rumors, speculations, and reports aside, here are the efforts that we are participating in to save our soaps, and like Frank Valentini said, if it works-then it works, if not- we tried… at this point we have nothing to lose:
