Kim Jong Il dead at 69

    More from revloc

I was in S. Korea when Kim Il Sung died in 94

I remeber waking up in my South Korean hotel to the sounds of voices on bullhorns in the streets. Since I didn't understand any Korean I didn't know what was up. I also heard jets and other aircraft. I picked up the newspaper that had been slipped under the hotel door and saw that the North Korean Great Leader Kim Il Sung had died. With all the sounds outside I was worried I was stuck in a war zone. I called the company I was working for and asked what their policy was about getting me out of there if there's a war. I was told I was pretty much on my own and get to the U.S. Consolate. However after that day it was pretty much business as usual. South Korea is a free people in the business of creating wealth and North Korea an oppressed people starving. I hope somehow the people of the North will use this opportunity to save themselves.
