    Sarah Palin's political future

    More from alicefound

    Another campaign attempt?

Am I the only one considering that the McCain's camp knowledge of Palin's daughter's pregnancy was considered to be a possible "pro" to their supporters?  After all, it seems that the GOP's strategy in recent years has been to paint a picture of Dems as not knowing "the little guy."  This is an opportunity for them to show just how pro-life they are, and the certainty of their "value" system.

I put "value" in quotes because I'm not sure you can call something a value when it involves marrying off a child-having-a-child, and the pregnancy most likely having a direct correlation to your own failure in educating your daughter on birth control.  Oh, but wait, we can't do that!  Because after all, abstinence-only is the only way to go.

There's not only hypocrisy present in this; it's proof that this particular conservative point of view on sex education, unforgivably pro-life, is condemning our young women as opposed to educating and empowering them.  I only hope that Bristol finds the courage to tell her she's not going to be a political ploy.  What a horrible day for women in this country - we have the possibility of the first female vice-president taking office, and it turns out she seems to  have less respect even for her own daughter's best interest , let alone those of American women.  Pathetic.
