    A holiday season without religion?

    Tree of Knowledge

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     staks1, a stay-at-home dad and blogger in a suburb of Philadelphia, says this was the second year he made a holiday 'tree of knowledge.' He says, 'I don't like Christians trying to claim that they have the monopoly of winter celebrations. People celebrated the winter season before Christians were around and we will celebrate this season long after Christianity has gone the way of all the other religions that no one practices today.'
    - dsashin, CNN iReport producer

Even though I am an atheist, I see no reason why I shouldn't be able to celebrate the winter season in my own way. As a Humanist, I value knowledge so this year my family and I put up a Tree of Knowledge instead of the traditional Christmas Tree. Our Tree of Knowledge features laminated book covers from atheist books, history books, philosophy books, etc.
