    Abendbrot

    A typical German family evening meal is the Abendbrot or Evening Bread. The meal comprises of a selection of cold cuts, sausages, salads, cheeses or pate ( or all of them) eaten with hearty bread, bread rolls or baguette, and of course, paired with beer or wine. Easy to prepare, delicious and reasonably healthy. Most importantly, there is no mess left in the kitchen after the meal! I highly recommend it.
