    New Year in Manila, Philippines

Our own way of saying welcome to 2012

    1. Serving round fruits on the table during New Years Eve is one of our traditions. Inherited from our Chinese forefathers that is believed to bring luck into the coming year. Foods like roasted nuts, grapes, orange, water melon among others.
    3. Opening the windows and doors of our houses to let good karma come in.
    2. Buying firecrackers and trumpets to drive away bad karma out and giving a big bang welcome to the New Year.
    3. Families gathering in front of their house, and lighting up firecrackers even thou it is currently being banned, will always be a tradition that cannot be stopped in my opinion.
    4. Spending New Years Eve with our family, we believe that if we stay together at the start of the year, we will be together until the end of that year.
