    Occupy Wall Street Ushers in 2012

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     iReporter and freelance photographer shameel shot excellent photos of Occupy Wall Street protesters in Zucotti Park on New Year's Eve. He reported that 'several clashes' occurred with police and that he got pepper spray on his camera.

    Hundreds gathered at Zucotti Park, Manhattan, to celebrate New Years Eve at the original site of Occupy Wall Street.

     

    Supporters new and old began to gather at 8pm, Saturday December 31st, 2011, at Libery Plaza / Zucotti Park. At 10pm, more protestors joined, and some marched to the Merrill Lynch Bull, in Bowling Green.

     

    Several clashes with NYPD occurred.
