    Your Kodak Moment

    Hansel & Gretel

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Recently retired art instructor and lifelong artist from Round Rock, Texas, amdlc, shares with us this photo of Hansel, the stray cat, standing up to Gretel, the family German shepherd, in the winter of 1977. She says she and her family adopted Hansel after he cried outside of their door for hours.

'I enjoyed taking many photos between Hansel and Gretel, especially when they began to bond eating and drinking together out of the same bowls and snuggling as they slept. I took photos of Gretel letting Hansel play with her tail and taking daily walks together side by side, Gretel on a leash, Hansel at her side. People always stopped to marvel at this unusual scenario. It is special to have photos like these from the past to reminisce, laugh and share with others,' she explains.
    - elchueco, CNN iReport producer

A little white male kitten adopted my family though we had a large three year old German Shepard named Gretel. After crying outside of our door for hours I reluctantly brought the kitten in and named him Hansel. Determined to stay Hansel stood his ground without fear against Gretel, Hansel and Gretel eventually became family, eating, playing and sleeping together.
