    Strange Weather in Northern Michigan

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     sailfish says she captured this video overlooking Huron Lake, and explains that the lack of wintery weather has been upsetting because of its direct impact on tourism.
    - Jareen, CNN iReport producer

The World Ice and Snow Sailing Association (WISSA) is supposed to have a world championship competition in northern Lake Huron from February 20-24 but as you can see, there is no ice and this year may not be a good year to plan on having any ice. This is very different from last year, when residents and locals were able to snowmobile back and forth between Mackinac Island and St. Ignace on what is called an "ice bridge." This year the temperature has been too warm and there are waves where there should be solid ice.
