    Football "Pope" Joe Paterno Dead!

Joe Paterno, the football “Pope”, dies at the age of 85, and fans all over the nation are devastated. You know what? Save it! Save your freaking grief… sell it to someone else, because I am not buying it. As far as I am concerned Paterno is nothing but a pedophile protector and should have been arrested for not reporting the child sexual abuse allegedly perpetrated by his former defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky. Instead of going straight to the authorities, Paterno chose to protect his job, Penn State’s football program, and his alleged pedophile friend Sandusky at the expense of the children. Paterno should have been arrested.

Despite his many accolades as head coach at Penn State, named National Coach of the Year five times, he lead the Dittany Lions to two national championships: he wracked up five undefeated seasons, and top-25 finishes on 35 occasions, nevertheless, he failed to obtain an award for “child protector of the year”. Paterno was even inducted to the College Football Hall of Fame in 2007. Should have been the Hall of Shame. And, this “God” like bigger than life “football Pope” coach, the truth is that when it comes down to it, it is undeniable that Paterno chose to protect his job as head coach, Penn State, and his friend Sandusky, instead of protecting the children.

I cannot say that I am happy Paterno is dead, but what I can say is that I feel more terrible about what happened to those child victims. Joe Paterno football “Pope” dies at the age of 85, and fans all over the nation are devastated. You know what? Save it! Save your freaking grieve… sell it to someone else, because I am not buying it.

I recognize that for millions in this country, and even all over the world, football and winning are the two most important things in their lives, even if it occurs at the expense of others. What is astonishing is that amongst those football fans, millions are parents, and it is beyond me why would any parent support Paterno, and Penn State, after everything that has happened. The fact is that the only reason the University fired their beloved “football Pope “is because the “cat was out of the bag”, and the University could not longer ignore what was happening. So, Penn State’s officials, all trying to save their own hides, threw Paterno under the bus. And he deserved to be punted there.

So the ”football Pope” is dead. How sad? Hell no! Shame on those people that are flocking like sheep to Pattern’s statue at Penn State to place flowers and pay their respects. I do not care how many awards Paterno received; all I see of this man is how callous and two-faced he really was… some family man? To keep a secret of child sexual abuse, or any type of abuse, against defenseless children is criminal… I am not one that is going to cry any tears whatsoever for Paterno… What I am sad about is that he will never face any charges… as I said; Joe Paterno should have been arrested. He failed his community, and failed the children of America.
